# QInventor
|

|
|
Windows desktop CAD built as an independent Python/Qt workbench on the unmodified FreeCAD portable runtime (Open CASCADE). Russian UI. All source belongs here; do not edit C:\Repos\QCad or other repositories.

|
|
|
## Layout and ownership
|
|
|
|
- `src/QInventor/Init.py`, `InitGui.py`: FreeCAD workbench startup.
|
|
- `src/QInventor/qi_ui.py`: custom ribbon, dialogs, welcome/help, workbench integration.
|
|
- `src/QInventor/qi_commands.py`: command registry; calls services and native workbench commands.
|
|
- `src/QInventor/qi_model.py`: parametric part operations, examples, project persistence, assembly/BOM and drawing services.
|
|
- `scripts/`: reproducible bootstrap, sync, launcher/package, smoke automation.
|
|
- `tests/`: FreeCAD real-kernel integration and GUI smoke tests.
|
|
|
|
Use `from PySide import QtCore, QtGui`; import QtWidgets with compatibility fallback. Prefer FreeCAD transactions for mutations. Reject invalid dimensions before modifying documents. Preserve original native tool access. No fake-success buttons or mesh-only replacements for solid geometry. No claims of Autodesk Inventor file compatibility or full commercial feature parity.

|
Workbench services should be testable through FreeCAD Python. GUI tests may use Qt APIs/macros and save actual screenshots. The portable runtime licenses and upstream notices remain intact. No external service requirement.
